It was removed from the repo because it was orphaned and no dev was interested in maintaining it.  Plus, several other browsers are available in the repo.

I would prefer using the package to install them as opposed to compiling and installing them myself. After using Galeon for **years**, I haven't found a browser that I am as satisfied with as theirs...  Maybe I will look at Opera to play with it (shame it's not Open Source). But I'm afraid that I won't import my bookmarks (5+ years of bookmarking has left my bookmarks, well, bloated, and will just transfer sites/passwords as necessary.)

Which is the first release of 2007. Galeon is not really maintained anymore. Nothing news happening. All development happens at epiphany nowadays, galeon is only updated with trivial fixes that come from the epiphany project.

Yes, You're right. I find Kazehakase particularly useful, and I can import my bookmarks. Maybe will be displaced from community to extra  smile
