Strange behaviour

Hi guys,
After a recent update (along with the kernel) ive been having a few problems.

After updating the kernel and running lilo, then rebooting i got a kernel panic.
I saw a few lines saying something about hda/hdb etc. and i thought i must have configured my lilo.conf wrong.

I currently had my boot set as /dev/sda which is correct (well until the update). Now my drives names have all changed from being /dev/sda etc to /dev/hda etc which i thought was an old way of naming them?
Anyway after reconfiguring lilo and editing my fstab ive got my system working again.

Im just wondering why my device names have suddenly changed from being /dev/sda to /dev/hda?

Thanks
Kane

Re: Strange behaviour

Check your mkinitcpio.conf, it has probably the ide hook enabled instead of the pata one.
