Does anyone uses this here? It says you need an i386 Linux system, will it work on arch too??

While replacing the init system is a difficult operation and initng is known as being overcomplex and not so faster than arch's bsd-style initscripts, archlinux runs only on i386 (in particular i686 and x86_64) linux systems, so this will not be the problem.
