I have tried to use hp-toolbox with my Photosmart and it told me that I should install pyqt. I, therefore, did the following:
pacman -S pyqt and everything seems to be OK
I have checked that everything is installed.
[root@archie james]# pacman -Qs pyqt

I went through this. The pyqt package is now for qt4 but hp-toolbox 2.7.12 needs the version for qt3. Install pyqt3 and all should be well again.

You can also manage printers from the CUPS web interface.
Point your browser to localhost:631. Printers can be added and removed from there.

Yes, indeed pytq3. And HPlip had been upgraded to 2.8.2-1 in testing.

I tried reinstalling hplip, pyqt3 and pyqt...no dice.

Ok, fixed it. I think I broke it by merging /etc/ld.so.conf.pacnew
/opt/qt/lib was missing from it, so I just added it back.
Typical PEBKAC...
