LaTeX with the beamer class (has a steep learning curve if you don't know LaTeX yet though).

Is it really a presentation software?
and by the way, I can not find it in the repositories...can somebody guide me in this?

It's a typesetting program, it's a bit like what HTML is to a browser. So you typeset the contents, then convert the .tex file into pdf or dvi. You can then use a pdf viewer to give the presentation, or print them on a transparency. I'm not really into presentation stuff...
A good starting point is arooaroo's guide, which I have just found.
As for installation we have both tetex and TexLive prepackaged for Arch, as LaTeX comes in distributions, a bit like Linux. I personally use TexLive as it's more up to date, you can find an installation tutorial in the wiki.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do

A few alternatives exist. One of the better is KeyJNote which will read a PDF file that you create and display it as a presentation with some neat transitions effects. KeyJNote is in the AUR and more info can be found here: http://keyjnote.sourceforge.net/
Another is MagicPoint which is in Extra (I think) which is similar. You create the slides in some other program and it will display them. Info here: http://member.wide.ad.jp/wg/mgp/ and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagicPoint
Another on is KPresenter. I know nothing about it, though: http://koffice.kde.org/kpresenter/

Or figlet for the console

The nicest font for it imo is ogre, which you'll have to download a separate .flf file for from their site (contributed font list)

I believe the GNOME office people were working on a presentation app awhile back, but it was abandoned. Seems like OOo is the only choice for something PowerPoint like on linux. I don't do presentations, but I'd probably use latex and beamer if I did.

[kostas@noble ~]$ magicpoint
bash: magicpoint: command not found
The command you are looking for is mgp (options) mgp-filename
You might find this page helpful too: http://lionel.kr.hs-niederrhein.de/~dal … p/mgp.html

(latex + beamer) +1 from codemac
Ok, probably not the best choice... google docs has a presentation doo dah now too if you want that web 2.0 feel for your presentation.

You might be amazed by beamer then, I used to use prosper but it's quite a pain when you've got used to the beamer class.

I just came across keyjnote, which looks amazing . . .
Runs with python(yay!) and xpdf(yay!).
You create a PDF and open it with keyjnote, which then uses opengl and a few other tricks to make the PDF into a presentation.

Edit: Did I mention;
yaourt -S keyjnote
