Midori does not support UTF-8?

I just installed webkitgtk-svn and midori from AUR, but found that it does not display UTF-8 pages correctly. All CJK characters display as blank boxs. I tried to change the font but the "Languages" and "Fonts" settings are all faded out thus I cannot change them.

Any solution please?

Do you have said fonts installed? Do they display correctly on other apps?

Re: Midori does not support UTF-8?

Its default font (which cannot be changed) is sans. I am very sure there is nothing wrong with my global font settings, as all my other (many) apps display the CJK characters without any problem.

Yes, sounds like it's app specific.  I don't use midori, so we may have to wait on someone who does sad

Well, I just tried it and get the same error, but Midori is still in alpha state ... still, you can contact the author and describe your problem here: http://software.twotoasts.de/?page=Feedback

Re: Midori does not support UTF-8?

Hi, I've installed the following version of midori:

[505 ~:bsdson 13:26]$ yaourt -Qi midori
Name           : midori
Version        : 0.0.16-1

And I can open
http://www.yahoo.com.tw
correctly

But not
http://www.google.com.tw

Don't know why.

Henry

Re: Midori does not support UTF-8?
