Amount is replacing quality? I've been waiting that someone mad&genius would discover 0-day security hole and make virus which just destroys everything. Now it seems that not so genius guys are only recoding old stuff for profit.

Yeah they lack ambition.
But what about the 'storm' - isn't that supposed to be taking over the world?

Of course if they could invent a virus that cut underwater internet cables, then...
