Since today my Alt key changes it's behaviour, whenever I enter an guest os
running in my vmware-server the alt key changes after leaving the guest os.
my normal hotkeys like alt + p for terminal or alt + 1,2 for switching desktop
just won't work anymore. Alt + tab to switch windows also won't work.
But i discovered that i can switch the tabs within firefox. I.e alt + 1 will
switch to the first tab in the row.
All other keys seem to work as expected.
Any ideas about the issue?

After restarting X the problem is gone, until I enter the guest OS in
vmware-server again.
A friend of mine also reported the same problem with vmware-workstation
running. But I wasn't able to find anyone having a similiar problem using
google.

having the same problem here with:
* vmplayer version 2.0.2 rev59824
* kernel 2.6.24
...as far as i know there is no known cure, although there aren't many reports floating around.
working without alt-key is nearly impossible, especially if you are developing websites. *argl*
the only solution seems to be NOT to update to 2.6.24.
...any pointers to a REAL solution are appreciated.
