I cant'f configure my xorg.conf

I'm using a COMPAQ dc5100 semi-tower

It has a 82915G/GV/910GL integrated VGA

When I try hwd -s it detects the VGA but seems to leave it uncomplete:
Server : Xorg ( ) " <---Blank Space into ()
Driver : xf86-video-
Module: -

If I do hwd -x it generates a xorg.conf- with the driver section empty, same for vesa
What can I do ??

Thanks

Re: I cant'f configure my xorg.conf

Maybe try  Xorg -configure.
It's another way to create xorg.config

Re: I cant'f configure my xorg.conf

For your card, in hwd's xorgtable there is no driver. Try to install xf86-video-i810 or xf86-video-intel. In driver section add 'i810' or 'intel'.

Re: I cant'f configure my xorg.conf

Thank you bothh, it seems do the trick.
But when I launch "gdm" , put eny of my users and password it says :

"GDM no puedo esribir en su archivo de autorizacion o bien no dispone de espacio en disco duro" and returns to the logins screen.

The text in Spanish says "GDM can't write in your autorization file or your Hard Drive is full"

When I try to ctrl-Alt-Backspace the monitor goes out of sync and get a blan screen.

I can not acces any other console too (Ctrl-Alt Fx does'nt seems to work),  my only chance then is Hard Reset the computer.

Please, I think i'm so close to give up now

It looks like you got logged in.  What did you do?  What was the problem?

I want to update hwd's xorgtable, did you use  'i810' or 'intel.
