spim/xspim hang

I installed spim from AUR, but whenever I run it (either the command-line or the X version) it hangs. I downloaded the source from the authors website and built it, with the same problem. I was just wondering if anybody else was having the problem.

it has to do with the version of flex we use. I uploaded a patched version to the aur... http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=19825

xspim still craps out under x86-64
