Try using the fallback image, it's most likely a mkinitcpio hiccup

So in summary, Arch died in your arms but rather than trying to resuscitate it, you said screw it, I'll get a new one! ![]()

If my arch install ever goes down the tubes I'll be installing arch64 as well.
Who is this doin' this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?

I cocked up my laptop the other day, figured I'd try arch64 on it, endless problems trying to get the wireless working, so back to arch32. Really not liking kernel 2.6.24 and intel wireless atm too many problems ![]()

No problems with arch64 and an intel 4965AGN wireless card here

If I ever lose this Arch install, arch64 would be the way to go -- I said that two years ago...
Problem is it just won't die! This installation dates back at least to Widget, surviving two completely new PC systems (started on an AMD Athlon XP 1900+, and is now on Core 2 Duo E6750. All I had to do is roll my own kernel everytime I changed Hardware).
Consider this... it just *won't* die!

I also have arch64 running with intel 4965AGN and kernel 2.6.24.

you know my laptop did the same the other day. I just used the install CD to chroot into the install and reinstall the kernel with
pacman -S kernel26
I found the instructions to do that in the wiki
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Kernel_Panics
Hurra for Arch Linux!

Yeah, i'm running the iwl3945 device, not 4965, don't really have the time to dedicate to getting it to work atm, got too many other projects i'm working on. As soon as I have time I will, back to running the 2.6.23 kernel now. Quite happy with this one, 2.6.24 adds nothing I need atm, so gonna continue working with a stable system.
I may build my own kernel at some point and see if that works.
