How to necome a maintainer of obsolete package

Hello,

I found that libfishsound package is marked as obsolete. I emailed person who was in pkgbuild and he told me that he is not maintaner. My question is, how can i publish updated version of this packagebuild?

I think it would be nice to put answer to this question in AUR user guidelines.

I think it might be nice if there was a program that would upload modified pkgbuild as a suggestion to pkgbuild author. E.g. When using yaourt, user tries to instal some package. PKGBUILD is not actual and user makes modifications. After successful build it would be nice to ask user, if he wants to suggest this update to PKGBUILD maintainer. I know this should be thougt more carefully, but it might be quite good feature.
