Did Pacman -Syu today to make sure everything was up to date. Pacman returned this:
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
kdemod is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
warning: kernel26: local (2.6.24.1-2) is newer than core (2.6.23.14-1)
warning: licenses: local (2.3-1) is newer than core (2.2-2)
warning: nvidia: local (169.09-2) is newer than extra (100.14.19-6)
warning: nvidia-utils: local (169.09-1) is newer than extra (100.14.19-2)
warning: pcre: local (7.6-2) is newer than core (7.5-1)What's the deal It was my understanding that the 2.6.24.1 kernel was in core??? And the nVidia driver was automatically installed a couple days ago when I installed.
Thanks,
Nathan

Either you changed mirrors in pacman.d/mirrorlist, pacman.conf, or something funky is going on with your mirror.

my main mirror is the locke.suu or whatever it is. I commented out the main mirror and nethat because they're slow.

Well, when you last did pacman -Syu on the old mirror, it sync'ed up with that mirror. Then, when you commented out that mirror and changed to a different one and synce'd up to it, some packages on your system appear newer than the ones in the repo because your new chosen mirror is a few hours (hopefully not days) behind the other one.
Not to worry, assuming the new chosen mirror catches up.

What's wierd is I thought I had used that mirror from the start...

Uncommented the main server and all is fine. Do any of you have a preferred server in the US? Weired that locke.suu had this problem, it was recommended to me.

If main is slow for you ,just check others. There's plenty of mirrors ftp://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.archlinux.org/ and ftp://ftp.belnet.be/packages/archlinux/ are usually fast and up-to-date
