[SOLVED] 5.1 sound - centre/LFR and rear channels swapped

I'm using pulseaudio and ALSA and have a strange problem where the Centre/LFE and rear channels are the wrong way around. The jacks are plugged in correctly and the channel are correct under Windows so I don't want to have to switch the jacks around everytime I reboot. My asound.conf is the standard one for pulse (even without pulse I get the same problem), otherwise I've made no changes.  The mixer controls the correct channels per their label (i.e. surround alters the rear speakers, LFE the bass and centre the centre speaker).  This problem has show up using speaker-test and VLC.

My sound card is an internal Intel HDA (ALC888 on an Abit IP35 Pro). In the past I've had it working okay under Ubuntu.

See thread and page. It's the "ttable" lines.

Thanks for the pointers - I'm having great fun now creating different plugins and applying LADSPA filters now smile
