[solved]ExpressCard Issues

Hey fellow Archers,

I have a HP Pavillion DV6275us and after many semi-successful attempts at other distros I am now finally at home with Arch.  I was about to add my experience to the Laptop wiki until I realized that there was one stock component that still isn't running right:  my ExpressCard Slot and the TV Tuner that's attached to it.

lspci:

[sagui@tslaptop ~]$ lspci

I'm guessing the PCI Express Port entries are the Expresscard

lspcmcia (empty):

[sagui@tslaptop ~]$ lspcmcia
[sagui@tslaptop ~]$

That's right, nothing happens.

lspcmcia (with tuner inserted):

[sagui@tslaptop ~]$ lspcmcia
[sagui@tslaptop ~]$

After I put in the card dmesg doesn't make a peep, it's like nothing happened.  Also the led on the tuner that indicates proper insertion does not light up.
I know that people have gotten this exact thing to work in Ubuntu, but there they had to reinstall Ubuntu with the card inserted, something that I hope I can prevent.  I just have Arch setup perfectly, plus it seems like I'm just missing a module/daemon, but for the life of me i can't figure it out.

Any help is apprechiated.  Also if you have the same or similar model PM me with questions about how to get stuff to work, I'd be more than happy to help you.

Re: [solved]ExpressCard Issues

I figured it out.

I was indeed missing a module, pciehp to be exact.  I activated it by doing (as root):

modprobe pciehp pciehp_force=1

and all was well.
