Installing Arch on Intel D201GLY2

Hi guys,

I just assembled a mini-ITX computer as a home server. The configuration is the following:

Intel D201GLY2
G-Alantic GA630IBK Chassis - Type B
Samsung HD501LJ

It's awfully silent and linux just runs nice on this system but I have a problem with the video adapter: the mainboard is based on SiS 661FX chipset. I can run X.org only in 8 bit color depth otherwise my monitor shows multiple vertical lines flickering. I googled around a bit but I didn't find any solution. Someone had my same problem? How can I solve it?

I use the "sis" driver for my monitor native resolution is 1680x1050@60Hz and the "vesa" driver doesn't allow me to use that resolution. I don't need 3D acceleration but at least I would have a 24 bit color depth.

Bye, Axel.
