nVidia "The Best Way"

Right now I have nVidia installed through the ArchLinux repos. But when I run glxgears I get

Xlib:  extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

And KDE4 Widgets give me

OpenGL Shaders not supported

What files do you need to fix this, because I am completely stuck.

Re: nVidia "The Best Way"

Have you put 'Load "glx" ' in your xorg.conf module section ?

Re: nVidia "The Best Way"

I really don't know what's setup or enabled in your xorg.conf file, but you might just need to enable composite and add argb glx visuals in your Xorg file.  Take a look at these two wiki entries, they will help you set up nvidia from the beginning:

Re: nVidia "The Best Way"

nvidia-xconfig will automatically set up your xorg.conf file with the capabilities of your card for one monitor. If you have dual monitors you can finish the setup through the 'NVIDIA X Server Settings' dialog.
