Boot hangs on "Loading ACPI Modules"

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-C2S/H and I'm running Arch64 and the boot process is hanging at "Loading ACPI Modules". It started happening since the latest Kernel Update and it only happens when the laptop is connected to the outlet.

I don't know what I can post here to help but I'll be glad to post anything you ask of me so I thank you in advance for taking the time to help me fix this issue.

PS: Is anyone else having a similar issue?

Re: Boot hangs on "Loading ACPI Modules"

I also own a VAIO. It is a VGN-FE41S and I encounter the same problem since kernel 2.6.24. Sometimes it hangs at boot time and sometimes it simply works out of nowhere. Most often i have to unpull every usb device and the ac-adapter to boot. So it kinda seems like kernel 2.6.24 breaks something in the acpi code. Can somebody tell me how to dump a acpi failure message while booting?

- Thx. smile
