pacman and website package list disagree [SOLVED]

Hi all,

'Pacman -Ss p7zip' says there is no such package.  However at

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/search/?q=7z

is an entry for p7zip in extra.  I know I DO have extra enabled although I'm currently unable to reach the 'kdemod4-i64' repository.  And I have run a 'pacman -Sy' before this.  What gives?

cheers,

kilolima

Have you tried pacman -Sy and then pacman -Ss p7zip?

Have you tried a different mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist?  If it still doesn't appear in a different mirror, I'll look into it on our pkg database.

Re: pacman and website package list disagree [SOLVED]

I commented out the first mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist ( ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/$repo/os/x86_64 ) and was able to find p7zip after another pacman -Sy.  Thanks!

Re: pacman and website package list disagree [SOLVED]

It appears to be on that mirror.... ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/extra/os/x86_64 … pkg.tar.gz.  I am not at my 64bit machine to check it in the pkg database.

Also, please make the change away from using ftp.archlinux.org mirror permanent.  If you use a mirror close to you then you will save the distro some bandwidth.
