mpd crossfading

I think I upgraded mpd recently, let me check...

hmm...

[2008-01-05 17:33] installed mpd (0.13.0-2)
[2008-01-17 18:20] upgraded ncmpc (0.11.1-3 -> 0.11.1-4)

lately, (in the last two weeks) I noticed that mpd "crossfaded" my songs (faded out the current song ten seconds before the end, gradually fading in the first ten seconds of the next song).

I fixed this by issuing

mpc crossfade 0

I'm a bit worried as to why this happened all of a sudden (during an ncmpc upgrade ?!), and whether it will ever jump in my face again. (there're no crossfade options in mpd.conf, and there's no such thing as mpc.conf)

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Re: mpd crossfading

Maybe you (or someone else) just hit x in ncmpc (it toggles a 10 second crossfade): if you use a mpdstate file, then that change would propagate between reboots.

ncmpc reads a ~/.ncmpc/config, but no mention of crossfading in mine.
