Hi, anyone has problems when printing with firefox3 and cups? When I try to print something the I receive no errors in firefox, but nothing is printed. Everything else works as expected in other apps, including firefox2. If I look in the cups log file, I find the following:
E [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] PID 29849 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoqpdl) stopped with status 2!
I [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
E [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] [Job 100] SpliX Invalid paper size "Custom". Operation aborted.
E [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] [Job 100] SpliX Request: cannot load printer information
E [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] PID 29846 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster) stopped with status 1!
I [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
E [21/Feb/2008:12:34:44 +0100] [Job 100] Job stopped due to filter errors.
If I set the loglevel to debug it seems that no relevant error message is added. I tried to change the paper size to something different from "Printer Default", but I get the same error (always concerning paper size "Custom"!).
I have a samsung ml-1610 supported by the splix driver. I have tried to switch to the new upcoming release of the driver 2.0.0-rc1, but there is no difference.

There were a known bug in Firefox Beta 3, and it was fixed after beta 3 code freeze. You'll get a fix by getting a nightly of beta4 or wait for it !

May be that this is the issue (also if the error messages are different). Thanks a lot! (also for the interesting reading: the bugzilla of mozilla-firefox is the biggest concentration of absurd trolls and misplaced remarks I have ever seen)

I confirm that the problem is solved in beta4. Thanks again

I know who reported this bug... It was me, under my real name
And it was a long fight to make them see it was a bug in firefox, not only in cups
