Disabling "exec shield"

after installing winex and getting the dissapointing "error 21" message i invesigated further and learned that i must disable exec shield for it is incompatible with wine. well, the directions i found were probalby for another setup and didn't work with arch so is there anyone that can help me with this dilemma?

nevermind, i got it. i had to mount the filesystems with exec
