BlueJ Java IDE GUI problems...Is this working for anyone else?

I've gotta use the BlueJ IDE for a course and I'm sick of booting Windows XP under VirtualBox every time I want to get some work done. 

I've installed BlueJ v2.2.1 from AUR (along with 'jdk'), but when I open BlueJ I can't select anything from the menus.  As a matter of fact, I have to hold the mouse button down to even make the drop-menus appear; a single click causes them to appear and vanish in a split-second. 

Is there anyone else who's stuck with this tool that has managed to get it working?  A penny for your thoughts.

it works fine here, are there any errors? (int the console)
