How to create a rar archive ( dumb question )

Hi there!

I want to create a rar archive. Unrar from extra doesnt provide rar, so  I took the aur package for rar. Now unrar does always want to replace rar. Is there a "cleaner" way to create a rar archive than to install the shareware rar from the AUR?

i put rar in ignored packages in pacman.conf
i guess that's as clean as it gets

dont create a rar. try 7zip instead. it even supports splitted archives like rar
