xfce4 doesn't remember wallpaper

Hello,

i run Arch with XFCE4 (not svn) and have XFCE manage my desktop.
Everything is fine and i finally have all settings the way i want them and thse are correctly set after a reboot, apart from the wallpaper.

Every time I login to XFCE I have a default blue wallpaper.

When I check the desktop settings my chosen wallpaper is indeed selected and I have to manually unselect/select the checkbox to make the wallpaper appear.
All other theme related settings are correctly loaded when I login and I have created a new user to see if there was something wrong with my settings but this one has the same problem.

does anyone know how to fix this?

thanks,
stefan

Do you have the same problem when you change the taskbar layout or something? for example when stretch it out over the whole length of the screen?

Re: xfce4 doesn't remember wallpaper

hi,

thanks for the reply. I am a small step further with this issue.
It seems to be related to my external monitor. I use a laptop which I connect to a external monitor at work. The external display is a "clone" i created with nvidia-xconfig of the laptop lcd screen.

I noticed that when I disconnect the vga cable of the external vga lcd screen (both 1920x1200 lcd) and reboot the wallpaper is correctly loaded.

It would be nice that When I connect my lcd screen that the wallpaper is visible then too. The difference I noticed is that with that second screen connected I see two screen options in the XCFE settings menus. Although it is merely a clone identical to the laptop tft.

hope this can help solving my problem.
stefan
