hello fello archers!
i am having an issue with kde atm, specifically the kdebase package. i want a clean kde (not kdeMOD) so i wanted to install kdebase however i have had an unexpected error the last few times i have installed kdebase.... the error reads:
call lnusertemp failed (temporary directories full?) Check your install.
now having not seen such an error before (and being an experienced linux user) i am thinking a few things...
1) maybe i didn't install something it needs? i am running within the same install atm using fluxbox to post.... however i need kde for another project of mine.
2) perhaps for WUTEVER reason this package is not compatible with my system? i am running a p4 2.5ghz on a msi mobo iwth an i865 chipset, with an ide hd and a nvidia 6800gs agp8x 256mb video card, i installed the nvidia drivers and properly configured my xorg.conf file???????
3) package broken? (seems extremely unlikely)
4) i left out something in the config part of the install which it doesn't like. i did a ftp install, properly setup mirrorlist (uncommented preffered server) and updated (which it didn't need anything) and only edited my hostname in the rc.conf (and ofcourse dealt with locales) so again i am left scratching my head....
i am sure this is a me issue not a arch issue.... i have had arch running PERFECTLY in the past (i truly mean PERFECTLY) around 0.8 i think. so any suggestions would be much appreciated!
thanks

There was a bug that make the permissions of /tmp wrong. It looks like it may be your problem.... Do a "chmod 1777 /tmp" to fix it.

Hi.
Did you just do an ftp install? If so, this may help: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 18#p328918
