In [testing] there have been changes to initscripts and udev.  Have a look at /etc/udev/readme-udev-arch.txt and make any necessary changes.  Also do "ls -l /etc/*pac*".  Also, do you have initscripts-splash installed?  The new udev relies upon the new initscripts.  The splash ones are the old version. 

Also, you can email a forum admin to move your post - search the user list for user group Moderators or Administrators.
