With the laptop I have (sony sz) I switch between two graphic cards and am able to do so with the use of a script and two xorg.conf files. I've gotten that to work, but to get the drivers I want I have trouble. I have xf86-video-intel installed for the integrated chipset and now would like the nvidia driver, but it conflicts with libgl. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

Install it anyways. The dependencies and functionality provided by libgl will be provided by nvidia-utils.

Remember that the propietary drivers include their own build-in libgl...

Well I tried just having nvidia and nvidia-utils but when I boot with the intel card compiz gives me:
No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap

i'd check to see in what way they conflict, and if files conflict, maybe rebuild one or the other package with a different prefix.
Or you could potentially go quick and dirty and install libgl package, then use the nvidia binary installer.
Hope this helps.
