getting PCSX to work - in arch64

I installed pcsx with

pacman -S pscx

and i have the pscx-df 1.818

I look at the plugins, and they seem to be correct. I select the disc I want to load and pscx just goes blank. The window closes. Nothing happens.

I am using the nvidia binary drivers.

This is what I get from running it in the terminal.

The program '<unknown>' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadColor (invalid Colormap parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 45 error_code 12 request_code 79 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

# the last couple of lines is when I select the disc to play

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
