Two cores cpu tuns to one

This morning, after i booted up the computer, only one core was detected by the kernel.  I spent much time and  finally i found it's because of my new Imation nano flash drive.  When this drive is plugged on booting, i get one core and this nano drive didnt be added to /dev/sdb1 by udev too, otherwise, i get two cores.  However, if this drive is plugged after i log in archlinux, it can be normally detected and used.  My cpu is amd althon64 x2 4000+.
