Xfce: xfmedia, troubleshooting

Hi, everybody,

Just installed xfmedia; mp3 files get played OK, but on video files or a DVD Video disk the player hangs. Probably some settings concerning my video hardware; I answered a lot of questions configuring xorg, and answered them without care hmm . What is the recommended troubleshooting procedure?

Do other video players work well? Whether xine-ui works would be particularly helpful, as I believe they use the same engine.

I would agree there, VLC ROCKS...  In my own little world, it VLC and nothing else...  However youmay want to do a system update and/or just try reinstalling codecs, etc... to see if you might have missed something.
