XFCE - Opening files from within other programs

When using using programs I can't open links to files. For example, if I download I file in Firefox, I can't double click it it within the download manager to open it. It have to navigate to it using Thunar are open it manually. Same thing with Deluge - I can't open the files listed within a torrent. I must navigate to them manually. Is there anyway to fix this? I'm running XFCE4.

Well, I figured out the Firefox problem. Hopefully this helps others. Add the following entries into about:config

network.protocol-handler.app.file = thunar (String)
network.protocol-handler.expose.file = true (Boolean)
network.protocol-handler.external.file = true (Boolean)

I figured out the deluge problem too - I had overlooked a setting under preferences. This thread is now totally pointless.
