ndiswrapper -> madwifi

Hi! Ive been using arch on a LGE500SP15V laptop for about 6 months and absolutely love it.
The laptop comes with a Atheros AR5006EG wireless card which ive been using with ndiswrapper for quite some time without any problems at all.

LsPCI output:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5006EG 802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)

However I want to be able to use aircrack-ng and realized it wont work with ndiswrapper.
So i started searching for other solutions for my card and found out that madwifi should be able to handle it.

My question is simply how do i "switch" without causing any conflict between the drivers?
1. I guess i should remove ndiswrapper from rc.conf - modules selection, remove ndiswrapper with pacman -R and remove the ndiswrapper entry in modprobe.conf.

Is there anything else i need to do before modprobing with madwifi etc?
Is there a way to make them both work simultaneously so i could just switch between madwifi/wext in my WICD-settings if needed?

Re: ndiswrapper -> madwifi

I may be stating the obvious, but madwifi is a separate package, make sure you install (or at least download it) before removing your current network drivers.
You'll probably find your interface name changes to ath0, so you will need to adjust your network settings appropriately.
I can't see why you can't keep both installed though, just don't load both modules at the same time.

If madwifi works in monitor and managed mode with your card, why would you want to keep both drivers? Keep it simple tongue
