Meanwhile, I came up with a rather darkish "cobblestone" variant while I was playing with the background

I like this 'cobblestone'-variant very much, but I think it is the bumpmapping that makes the 'linux'-piece of the logo a little bit off. The strokes are to thin and look variable-width.

I would prefer the cobblestone bg with the original cartoony logo.

What about a really hi-res version? Say, 2560x1600 so that I can get some love? Also, this would make a great Arch splash screen for boot time.
