[SOLVED] Input/Output Error.

I am unable to open the terminal in XFCE or GNOME. I get "Unable to openTerminal Emulator: Input/Output error.". Along with this, I am unable to open applications like firefox but can open things such as mousepad.

Any ideas on what this error means and how to fix it or find the problem? It just suddently occured after a reboot.

Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Input/Output Error.

Which terminal emulator do you use? Simply changing that to something else might fix the problem.

I don't know about XFCE (haven't used it much) but in Gnome, you can go to System > Prefs > Preferred Applications > System and set your default terminal emulator to something else.

See if setting to Standard X Terminal or something of your choice would fix it.
