Network connection probs<solved>

My Network card is a Realtek RTL-8139
I'm also using a Linksys router.
Arch picked up my network card as its listed as 8139cp and 8139too under modules in rc.conf. [assuming that's what the 8139 stands for]

I also have in rc.conf:

lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
etc0="dhcp"
INTERFACES=(eth0)
gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1 eth0"
ROUTES=(!gateway)

DAEMONS=(syslog-ng network netfs crond dhcpd)

I have a DSL connection and use dhcp for another linux distro.
I"ve tried different suggestions searching the forums as well as tried what the beginners guide suggested to no avail so far.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
ps, please keep in mind Arch is a bit more advanced than what I'm accustomed to, that's why I am trying to migrate here.

Your 'etc0="dhcp" ' line should be 'eth0'. And you no longer need the lo= line.
Change etc0 to eth0 and then try (as root)

/etc/rc.d/network restart

Then try to ping google:

ping -c 3 www.google.com

If you get an unknown host error, give us the output from 'ifconfig -a'
