I installed archlinux when I had 2 drives: CDROM and DVD-RW. Now I have removed the DVD-RW as I borrowed it from my friend and put in my DVD-ROM and kernel stopped recognizing it. I even regenerated a new image using:
mkinitcpio -p kernel26
but that does not help. kernel still does not recognize my DD-ROM drive:
[arnuld@arch ~]$ dmesg | grep sr
Driver 'sr' needs updating - please use bus_type methods
sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 32x/32x writer cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
sdb:<7>sr 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0
sr 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg1 type 5
[arnuld@arch ~]$
what to do make DVD-ROM work ?

1st, I am forced to mention that i can't read/write my DVDs with Arch.
2nd, also K3B version of (fully updated) Archlinux is broken. I lost my 2 DVD when I tried to burn them. It says 100% burning 10 seconds after the start and in the end it raises an error. I installed Debian Etch and K3B is ok there.
