[Solved] Openbox ignoring xsetroot

I want to set the background color for Openbox.  Tried using in .xinitrc:

xsetroot -solid blue
exec openbox-session

I can tell it is working because the screen will flash blue and then go to the default dark gray color of openbox-session.  Once Openbox is ready I can then open a terminal and manually set the background color with xsetroot.  Why is Openbox overwriting my .xinitrc xsetroot?

Try placing your xsetroot command in ~/.config/openbox/startup

Or in ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh

Nice avatar, by the way, kjs.
For some reason, it reminds me of The Gold Bug by Edgar Allan Poe.

Excellent.  That did it.
