I think it is a midori bug. I am using the git version from AUR, and this occurs when I resize the window to a small size, and the site resizes with it. Could be a feature, not a flaw though. I have not checked it out.

It displays the same in Chrome when resizing the window..

My Openbox desktop inspired by Crunch/Archbang style.
  conky
  firefox
  gvolwheel
  moc
  terminator
  tilda
  tint2
  thunar
  touhou 8
  trayer
  wine

feh used to set the background and as a general image viewer (like Windows Fax & Picture Viewer, using a bash script).

If anyone's interested, I'll edit my post to include more info (rc's, config's or whatnot).

Openbox theme = http://box-look.org/content/show.php/No … tent=85035 (Can't get the link work right now, but it was from that page)
Icon set = extra/tango-icon-theme
tint2rc = http://pastebay.com/109109 (I'm not sure if i changed something from the default config, maybe the "rounded" setting)

No, it is quite useful in some ways. It can add usability to some themes, give contrast to foreground and background windows and so on - But the system is going at full speed without and for me the speed gain in dropping compositing was nice.

Since then I have moved to Xfce which has excellent built-in compositing, a self generating menu and other features. If you tell Xfce not to manage icons on the desktop the result is a clean desktop and a menu just like openbox containing quick links to programs (without this setting the menu is a sort of cross between gnome and openbox and it a bit cumbersome)

Ah OK. Thanks. I thought so.
Yeah, I really like the compositing Xfce offers, but have never switched to it completely, just try it out every now and then. I will try XFCE again with their coming 4.8 release.

Ring Meters by londonali1010 (2009)

This script draws percentage meters as rings. It is fully customisable; all options are described in the script.

IMPORTANT: if you are using the 'cpu' function, it will cause a segmentation fault if it tries to draw a ring straight away. The if statement on line 145 uses a delay to make sure that this doesn't happen. It calculates the length of the delay by the number of updates since Conky started. Generally, a value of 5s is long enough, so if you update Conky every 1s, use update_num > 5 in that if statement (the default). If you only update Conky every 2s, you should change it to update_num > 3; conversely if you update Conky every 0.5s, you should use update_num > 10. ALSO, if you change your Conky, is it best to use "killall conky; conky" to update it, otherwise the update_num will not be reset and you will get an error.

To call this script in Conky, use the following (assuming that you save this script to ~/scripts/rings.lua):
    lua_load ~/scripts/rings-v1.2.1.lua
    lua_draw_hook_pre ring_stats

Changelog:
+ v1.2.1 -- Fixed minor bug that caused script to crash if conky_parse() returns a nil value (20.10.2009)
+ v1.2 -- Added option for the ending angle of the rings (07.10.2009)
+ v1.1 -- Added options for the starting angle of the rings, and added the "max" variable, to allow for variables that output a numerical value rather than a percentage (29.09.2009)
+ v1.0 -- Original release (28.09.2009)

Re: Share your Openbox Desktop ! :)

thanks for sharing your openbox setups. You have all inspired me to liven up my Desktop environment. It used to just be a bland grey background of a stpormy countryside and grey colored themes with xfce panel. I gave up on conky a while back but watching all your arrangements motivated me to go figure out what i was doing wrong lol.

anyway here's mine:

I think its tint2.

Btw firepower, can you please share your wallpaper? And xcompmgr is way outdated now. For some reason cairo composite manager gave me a lot of trouble with context menus, so I shifted to XFCE, which has its own bugs, though not really irritating ones. The lightweight life is bug free only on ttys I guess. big_smile

No xcompmgr this time, and not looking back.

By the way, the tray icons are all desaturated through tint2conf, and I am using external wicd icons. The fonts are all Aller Sans. OB is naos with modded colours.

incredible cairo-compmgr (configure with cairo-compmgr --configure)

It gives animating windows, fades between desktops, transparent window boarders, shadows .... in Openbox

It also give an expose type thingy...
