Well, we have a topic about your favorite theme engine: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=40349, but I having seen one that's about your favorite (GTK) theme, so here it is.
My favorite one so far is Murrine Tumsoo: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … tent=55177
It is, in my very humble and very biased opinion, one of the best dark theme around. The font color is easy to read and the whole theme color scheme is very easy on the eye. The only downside to the theme is that the font color for desktop icon is in light gray, so you can't see icon and folder name on desktop if you use bright wallpaper.
But enough about me, what's your favorite theme?

Call me unadventurous, but the Murrina Gilouche theme that comes with the archlinux murrine package is my favourite. Never been a big fan of all these dark themes personally. I just find them depressing (sorry zodmaner ).
flack 2.0.6: menu-driven BASH script to easily tag FLAC files (AUR)
knock-once 1.2: BASH script to easily create/send one-time sequences for knockd (forum/AUR)

yeah, dark = depressing but if it's a lil grey, not too dark, it's fine and looks great. thanks for this, i'm always looking for good gtk themes to tag along with the great-looking qt apps in my KDE environment
I need real, proper pen and paper for this.

dyscoria: Hey, no problem.
In fact, I've finally getting bored of my dark theme and switch over to MurrinaNeoGraphite that comes with murrine package.
Just like both of you said, switching from dark theme back to normal, light theme certainly lift my mood somewhat (even though the brightness is hurting my poor eyes).
Still, I listed Murrine Tumsoo as my favorite because it is the only dark theme that I could use (having try quite a number of dark themes and finally settle for this one). Ended up using it for almost 6 months.

"Sir, yes sir!"
That theme remembers me of a tank
Hey, I did some GTK themes... Take a look at it here, maybe there is something you might like.

I dunno. I really really like dark themes, but with accents of somewhat bright colour. They can look very elegant, and I always find that white text on a dark background is MUCH easier to read than black text on a white background.
This is why, as much as, for instance, I love things like Troll or Elegant Brit, I always end up with something more like this (which is actually the above-mentioned Troll, but with a modded colour scheme).

I love Rezlooks, grayish or some gilouche thing. 1977-Rezlooks or default Rezlooks-gray/-gilouche is fine.

rezlooks and elegant brit with minimalist setup, i.e. *box, awesome, wmii.

Yes, that's my current solution This kind of dark is nice: http://i26.tinypic.com/2b45d1.png - basically contrasts, and yeah light text on dark background is healthy.

I would really like to see more people in this thread, as I am currently looking very hard for a good theme to use. Right now I'm using Murrina Relax and it's very good, but I need something new. Maybe a dark theme for once, but with some light colors here and there for balance.
(PS: sorry for not replying auf Deutsch; I'm still in shock over the switch! )
Edit: I'm now using Mire, and I have to say that it is most definitely my new favorite theme. I can't decide between the lime or orange variants.

I'm currently using a hybrid of Murrina Dark2 blue (from gnome-look) with a lot of the gtkrc from MurrinaDarkEternalBlue (can't find the link - try google)
Sorry bout the lack of links - haven't changed for a while.

A custom modified gtk theme based off of RezlooksGreen (using the Rezlooks engine for the entire theme)

"Elegant Mine" is what I've settled for. A good dark theme.

I personally prefer to modify the text box input colors under Gnome, but it looks nice regardless.

I like this theme. Tell me, how do you get the text in open office to be readable?

I tend to create my own, but as of late it's been Rezlooks-Gil-Ouch. (Obviously, Gilouche ported to the Rezlooks engine.)
From what I can tell, rezza dissappeared and that's a shame. That engine singlehandedly made me start theming GTK. (Granted, It's now 2 years later and I still don't know what I'm doing, but it's a start)
