Salut,
trying to get openbox to work with gnome-panel. Everything works fine if I run gnome-panel when openbox is already started.
But when trying to add gnome-panel to the autostart.sh with
(sleep 1 && gnome-panel) &
as the last line, I get the error message
========================
The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_ClockApplet".
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

for 3 or 4 applets. How to solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Stefan

Same problem here.
It works when I start openbox using openbox-gnome-session. But I guess that's not the point.
Arch is to Linux as Jeet Kune Do is to martial arts.

I found a workaround for the problem.
Install xfce4-panel and xfce4-xfapplet-plugin and you will be able to run the gnome applets in the excellent and lightweight xfce4-panel.
It works fine for me ![]()

Too bad xfce4-xfapplet-plugin has a lots dependencie including evolution-data-server, gnome-desktop and gnome-panel. I am afraid it isn't lightweight anymore.
