Confirming that deselecting abs package in devel solved this problem.

So...do I need to get it somewhere else later?

Not unless you feel the need to rebuild/modify the packages from the repos, but if you do all you need to do is to "pacman -S abs" when you actually need it (there's nothing that depends on it to work).

Over 1 month of discussion, and neither a moderator nor a Arch staff didn't give a response. I suppose Arch Linux is going down. I remember times when Arch developers are sending messages to same thread over 2 times in a day.
