Games and Wine - unhandled page faults

Every time i try to run games under wine (System shock 2, Narbacular drop), wine spits out a bunch of Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00120028 at address 0x7ec048a4.
Sometimes the address is 0x7ec0f8a4

Both games are rated at least "Gold" on WineHQ

I am running x86_64 on a t60p, with a ATi FireGL 5250, using the fglrx driver.

The wine tools (winecfg, the provided notepad) and other programs (dev C++, the install programs of these games) run fine.

Re: Games and Wine - unhandled page faults

did you try going to winecfg->Graphics and disabling "Allow the window manager to control the windows" ?

Re: Games and Wine - unhandled page faults

Check wine's appdb. It looks like System Shock 2 refuses to run due to Safe disk copy protection. Find a crack over the net and before complaing about game not working under wine, ask google: "wine appdb game name"
Find information about the second game yourself wink

Re: Games and Wine - unhandled page faults

I probably should have mentioned. I installed all the patches, cracks, etc.

And toggling whether my WM controls the windows has no effect.

Re: Games and Wine - unhandled page faults

I used to the the page faults to, can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. If I recall correctly last thing I did before  the errors stopped was delete some files in the windows/system32/drivers folder or maybe it was after I edited the alsa config file... Hmm you could try either though I would back up the original files before hand.
