Well after a few unsuccessful tries, I got Arch installed...kinda. I installed Arch in a VM in VirtualBox. I want to play around with it first and see how it goes. I do have a few probably very noobish questions:
1. When I installed Firefox via Pacman it installe something called Bon Echo? From what I understand this is a development version of Firefox? How do I remove it and get the stable release?
2. I installed KDEmod as my DE. When it booted it looked almost like KDE4( although I have never installed KDE4 it kinda looked like the screenshots). However, it isn't.......it is KDE 3.5.9. Is KDE4 available with KDEmod and if not how can I change the icon theme but keep the Arch KDEmod Kmenu button on the panel?
Thanks for your help and I hope to learn a lot from using Arch! So far so good!

1. Don't worry, its just the nonbranded firefox, so it's still FF2.
2. KDE4 is not available in KDEmod, but KDE4 is in the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O … _Search=Go
For more info on using the AUR see the wiki.
Welcome and good luck!

Thanks! Anyone have any idea about the second part of question 2?

Maybe you will have more support asking kde-mod questions directly on kde-mod forums at http://kdemod.ath.cx/bbs

Question 1: If you have any problems with sites that don't recognize your browser just type about:config in the url window and type in general in the Filter window. Change the general.useragent.extra.firefox line by double clicking on it and changing Bon Echo to Firefox. Now all sites will believe you're running branded firefox.
