Ich meine doch im Repo das firefox durch firefox3 zu ersetzen. Ich sehe keinen Grund, firefox2 weiter im Repo zu behalten.

naja, auch wenn der 1. april noch aktuell ist, sollten wir dennoch bei englisch als sprache bleiben!

i can give you one big fat reason: most of the extensions are not yet compatible with the new firefox, also i have some problems on flash-pages. so, these are two big examples, why keeping firefox2 in the repo!

Other than that: ff3 is still beta. afaik ff3 has not been officially released yet.

Sure, but Ubuntu has replaced ff2 with ff3 already. It should be very usable now. And it's way better than ff2.

Well, this is Arch -- only stable upstream packages in the main repos.
(Okay, perhaps with one exception here and there when it's about hardware support ...)

not really. its just dumb.
replacing stable and well tested software with beta software is just plain dumb. especially for such an important application like a web browser
reminds me what microsoft did with vista

The ubuntuguys had their reasons belonging to their philosophy to push the firefox3 beta into the upcoming release.
