[Solved] Openoffice 2.4 substitutes Arial

Hi!

I have a strange problem with OO after last upgrade. It started to substitute arial with some other fonts, although the font substitution table under tools->options->fonts is empty.

Here's a screenshot:

In all other applications arial is diplayed properly. Furthermore if I insert Arial as a substitution for some other font, it also displays correctly.

It is Alien League font, but the thing is, that earlier ariel was substituted by font Planet X. When I removed Planet X font, Alien League jumped in... But i'll try as you say. Thanks! smile

This font looks quite like "Alien League". Any chance, you have installed it?

Look for any ARIAL5.TTF or ALIENATO.TTF (dunno which one) in your font paths and have them removed.
Worked for me.

(I know that's kind of a work-around, but Alien League is ugly anyway.)

Greetings, Andreas

OK, thanks again for giving me this tip. There were two font files conflicting somehow with arial: Alien league with file name ALIEN5.ttf and Planet X with file name PLANET5.ttf. They both tend to jump instead of arial. After removing them the problem disappeared.

I'm thinking about reporting this as bug, but I must do some more experiments.
