Blurry Screen

I've installed arch, nVidia driver, and XFCE WM.  They seem to function fine, but the text is extremely blurry.  Is there something I need to edit in my xorg.conf?  I've tried setting it to my native resolution in 2 different refresh modes with "nvidia-settings," but the screen is still blurry.  Any idea's?

Re: Blurry Screen

Goto setting>user interface and try turning off sub pixel hinting, hinting and anti-aliasing or different combinations until the fonts look clear. You could also try changing the font DPI and the font your using.

Re: Blurry Screen

I tried different combinations of those and different DPIs and font and it didn't help.  I've had the same problem before in other distributions, but it usually got fixed by tweaking the resolution/refreshrate.

Re: Blurry Screen

Finally figured it out.  I ended up resetting hardware defaults in the monitor section, and then using 1680x1050 60hz(2).  Nice and clear now!  Xfce's font smoothing stuff isn't the greatest tho imo.

Re: Blurry Screen

Must be something with your setup font smoothing looks fine to me. You might also want to try installing the fonts for LCDs, if you have and LCD monitor that is.
