Network Daemon

Since I don't have a wired connection, and wireless isn't working (yet) can remove 'network' from the Daemon section of the rc.conf?  On startup it always stops for a long time when it attempts to start the network.

Re: Network Daemon

If you only enable lo, which is required, the network daemon should start pretty fast. Remove the eth0 interface from rc.conf if you aren't using it.

lo is not required anymore, it got build in. I think you can safely put a "!" in front of the netwerk deamon as long as you don't have a working network. But if you comment out all interfaces it shouldn't take up any time, as elliot says.

Re: Network Daemon

Thanks I'll try commenting out eth0 interface.  I'll report back if it works (or doesn't..).
