Title says it. It's defaulting to the ugly standard gtk look (Same as firefox does before you install the fix) no matter what I do. I have the GTK program support settings all setup to make Firefox and others look fine in KDEmod but OpenOffice looks terrible, it's even effecting my productivity as it's so ugly it bothers me and some things are hindered by the interface problems. Here's a pic so you can see the problem.
As you can see, the toolbars have very ugly flat tiers, the fonts don't look good, everything is very ugly. It doesn't integrate with the window manager at all, it's like it's misplaced in it's window.
Help!
Thanks,
Nathan

Did you actually try putting the export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde in /etc/profile and not ~/.bashrc as I suggested in your earlier thread.... http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 92#p350192 I can remember adding it to .bashrc didn't work for me.

I tried running open office with the command
OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde && soffice
with no success. But I'll try that too.

Nope still looks terrible. If directly inputting that didn't work, I don't see why putting it into the profile would either

in aur there is a package for opeonoffice that use cairo for font rendering.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

i had almost the same problem, using kdemod and openoffice - and this is what i did:
in .bashrc i use
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome (yes, gnome!)
and i use qtcurve as gtk-style, now openoffice integrates quite nice ;-)

Update
Okay, I discovered something today. With OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome in /etc/profile if I click on a document to open it, open office appears to integrate perfectly but then the interface starts glitching, buttons disappear etc. But, if I click on one of the OpenOffice programs directly in the K-menu then it's not glitchy but is ugly. What is going on here?

Alright, I tried every possible configuration OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=(kde/gnome) in .bashrc and in /etc/profile and even without that anywhere. When clicking on a document to open it, the menus are rendered correctly and immediately bug out, when clicking on open office in the k menu and then opening a document or starting a new one there are no glitches but it's ugly.

have you checked for upstream issues: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/query.cgi ?

or checked that you're doing it right? logged off between those file changes? done what I suggested?

OOo just does not work with KDE-integration. You can force it, but then you are not able to open any files.

The above option doesn't work for me either.

"Its" window. If I were your English schoolmistress, I'd deduct a point for that

Thanks for helping with the problem lol

Don't know what you're talking about...your OOo looks gangsta and rugged...keep it old school. Crank up some early 90's alternative, put on colorful clothes, and party like it's 1993: Then you'll be as productive as when you were a young man.

Same thing with the new build.

I have te same problem with disappearing menus. I'm using KDE with the export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde option in /etc/profile.d

good to know, that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Today I tried the openoffice-base-devel-3.0_dev300_m10-1. The same thing is happening.

I'm having the same problems. Every time I double click on a document in Konqueror OO starts but with toolbars that looks like crap.
Maybe I should give koffice a try instead.

do you all have that integration issue also with the official rpm based install packages?
