Lid open cause restart of gdm - what is wrong

After kernel upgrade from kernel26suspend which was actually 2.6.22 to the latest kernel26 (2.6.24.4-1) I have strange problem with lid switch of my Dell Latitude C400.

The problem is that I close the lid and the screen goes off. But when I open the lid the X restarts, so I lost all my open files. The only error I got is:

gdm-binary [5511] : WARNING: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0

Do you know what is the cure for this problem?

On my other systrem Dell inspiron E1505 everythings works like charm and the same with the old kernel....

Solved. Problem was module "output". After I disabled this module everything works like it should. Finally
